Scott Ogilvie, Primary School Teacher, NZ
Pravin worked with Wairarapa Library Service to deliver a series of robotics workshops across 4 towns and 2 days. The workshops were centred around the Mars Rover and how robots can be coded to perform tasks. Communication to plan the workshops was fast and easy and Pravin arrived with all equipment organised and ready to go.
He presented the content in a clear, engaging and fun manner that the kids responded well to. Despite the often technical nature of the directions and activities, all participants knew what to do and how to do it.
Participant feedback was positive and I hope Pravin can return next holidays to help deliver more workshops.
Aleisha Amohia, Technical Lead
Pravin worked with Victoria University of Wellington Women in Tech (VUWWIT) on a number of occasions, but the strongest collaborations were the times Pravin assisted with Tech Day 4 Girls (TD4G). Tech Day 4 Girls is a full-day event that invites high school students to campus to try a range of tech-related games and activities. Pravin was excellent at using his years of outreach experience to provide assistance to the VUWWIT team when needed, as well as running an arduino workshop for 15-30 students at a time. It was always wonderful to partner with Pravin, he’s a great communicator and cares deeply about his service. Pravin has a great passion for outreach and diversity, which is shown through his efforts with young people and students, and working with VUWWIT.
Suzan Hall, School Manager, Engineering Victoria University of Wellington
Pravin Vaz, the Outreach Guru at Victoria University of Wellington’s Faculty of Engineering, always had a knack for making learning about digital technology fun! He’d whip up awesome activities that kids of all ages couldn’t resist getting excited about.
Ian White, Chief Growth Office, Bastion Security Group
Pravin and I have worked in tandem a number of times over the past 4+ years. I’ve dealth with several outreach consultants and coordinators, but none that have the level of diligence and professinalism Pravin has. His ability to understand your business and its needs, along with understanding a students needs is brilliant.
Lillian Pak, Education Management and Leadership MBIE NZ
I have been working with Pravin Vaz since mid-2018. During this time, he has delivered STEM programmes at several of our eight library sites across Lower Hutt City. His sessions have been amazing. They are well-planned. From a pedagogical perspective, there are clear objectives, and the activities are well-pitched for the age groups and developmental stages. The activities are also sequenced well so skills can be built and scaffolded upon.
